Paediatric Gastroenterologists care for infants, children and adolescents suffering acute and chronic gastrointestinal problems. Paediatric gastroenterology developed as a sub-specialty of paediatrics and gastroenterology. It is concerned with treating the gastrointestinal tract, liver and pancreas of children from infancy until age eighteen. The principal diseases it is concerned with are acute diarrhoea, persistent vomiting, gastritis, and problems with the development of the gastric tract. The aim of the study of paediatric gastroenterology is to reduce infant and child rate of deaths, control the spread of infectious disease, promote healthy lifestyles for a long disease-free life and help ease the problems of children and adolescents. It can be acknowledged that this can be reached by learning the major and primary subject on gastroenterology. It includes the treatments involved for the betterment of gastrointestinal health in children.  Paediatric gastroenterologist has the expertise to treat a child. Digestive, liver, and nutritional problems in children often are quite different from those seen in adults.
